Using dashboards in Business Applications

This article describes how to configure and use Microsoft Office Live Business Applications dashboards in Personal View। All Business Applications users have both Personal View and Company View dashboards.

What’s a dashboard, and how do I use it?

In Microsoft Office Live, workers see an interface known as a dashboard after they click Business Applications on the left navigation bar। This Business Applications Dashboard is a snapshot and portal to an organization’s information that is contained in lists and workspaces. In addition to this main Business Applications Dashboard, each application group and workspace in Business Applications has a dashboard.

A dashboard also acts as a home page for a feature area in Business Applications। For example, if you sign in to Microsoft Office Live and then click Business Contact Manager on the left navigation bar, you see the Business Contact Manager Dashboard.

The cool thing about Microsoft Office Live is that an organization can configure Company View for all Business Applications dashboards, thus helping workers in each area to focus on the tasks at hand. However, each worker also has a Personal View of these dashboards that he or she can customize, and which only he or she can view. Personal View helps workers focus on their individual tasks or areas of responsibility. Business Applications users change views by clicking the current view in the View box at the top of the page, and then by selecting the view that they want.
